If, as christianity teaches, you believe there is but one God, one supreme being, one spirit or power, one intelligence, that created this universe and all in it, and causes it to manifest as it does, then you must accept that all of mankind who also believe such are worshiping the same "God". To do otherwise is to defy logic and common sense. Due to culture and language, to environmental and educational differences, they may call it by some other name, and may worship in ways that may be strange to our western ways. Unfortunately, many of the world's religions have taught unless you do as we do, unless you worship as we do, unless you call "him" by our chosen name, then you are an infidel and are damned. If you have chosen to believe that those who believe and/or worship differently than you are somehow "misguided or ignorant fools", then you are ignoring Jesus' words; "Whosoever shall say, Thou Fool, shall be in danger of hell fire". And if you have somehow convinced yourself that you are wiser or more intelligent than everyone else in this world, that God somehow prefers "you" over everyone else, then you are incredibly arrogant and it You who is the fool. Believe what you will and allow others to do likewise; without ridicule or condemnation, without judgment. It is my belief that "Satan" is no more than a scapegoat that allows man to deny responsibility for his own actions; It's not my fault, the devil made me do it". But if you choose to believe in EVIL and Satan, then remember that Jesus gave us a surefire method to negate Satan's power: "Get thee behind me". And unless you allow him into your life, then he has no power, then for you and your life, He does not exist. If you Truly trust in God, then you know that "Nothing can harm you". If you truly trust in God, then why do you fear death? If you truly trust in God, then you know that so-called death is graduation day; escape from this often painful struggle on earth. If we truly trust in God, why do we continue to rape, torture, maim and kill each other? If we truly trust in God, why do we allow untold millions of our brothers and sisters to die of disease and starvation? If we truly trust in God, why do we allow governments and so-called leaders to lie, steal, cheat, and murder in our names? If we truly trust in God, why do we continue to build fences, borders, guns and bombs to protect us from these imaginary enemies? Me |
